What are square tile ceilings called?
It may also be referred to as a drop ceiling, T-bar ceiling, false ceiling, suspended ceiling, grid ceiling, drop in ceiling, drop out ceiling, or ceiling tiles and is a staple of modern construction and architecture in both residential and commercial applications.
What is a ceiling tile grid?
A grid system hangs ceiling tiles from the main ceiling. The grids are hung from the old ceiling or the joists, and they offer the advantage of hiding the wiring and pipes above the ceiling while also providing easy access to them in the event that they need to be replaced.
What is a concealed ceiling grid?
The tile used in a concealed system has a small groove built into it's perimeter, which slides over the mains and tees to cover them. This type of system is more expensive than an exposed system, and can make it more difficult for maintenance personnel to access areas above the ceiling.
